Awards Luncheon 2022
The STAND UP for STANDING FIRM Awards Luncheon brings leaders of the business community together to reaffirm their commitment to address partner violence in the workplace and to support survivors. This year’s event was held at the Westin Pittsburgh, Allegheny Ballroom on October 25th.
The Employer of the Year Award was given to YWCA Greater Pittsburgh. STANDING FIRM honored the YWCA for serving as a model of social justice and a strong ally for survivors of partner violence in the workplace and the community.

The Champion Awardees were five courageous women who chose to speak out about their experiences. On behalf of the Women’s Center and Shelter Staff, we say thank you to the amazing group of survivors who bravely shared their stories in the STANDING FIRM Survivors Speak video. Congratulations on receiving the 2022 Champion Award — you are so deserving. To Elizabeth-Anne, Janet, Anne, Kelly, and Oddessi, thank you for your courage, resilience, and voice. Your words mean so much to survivors and to this community at large. We are truly grateful for your ongoing leadership.

Delivering the Keynote was Jan Edgar Langbein, CEO of Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support in Dallas, TX.
Ms. Langbein is a national expert on the dynamics and effects of domestic violence and has been an activist in efforts to end violence against women for 30 years. She is the co-founder of the International Conference on Crimes Against Women, now in its 16th year.
